The #ReHash January 28, 2020: All because of this one picture.

January 28, 2020

I don’t know how your week has been, but it’s been crazy over on the Smart Girl Politics Facebook page. It all started when I posted this picture of the aftermath of last Saturday’s women’s march; these signs were piled up outside the new Trump hotel in D.C. Okay, okay, I posted a snarky message with it, but, really ladies, clean up after yourselves.

Welp, liberals (and one conservative!) did not like my post one bit, and they showed up in droves on the Facebook page to voice their displeasure. It was a political statement, they said; it was a shrine showing female empowerment. Well, all I saw was a mess.

So we were treated to harassment from liberals, and they chimed in on how conservative women are traitors to their gender and, clearly, suffer from self-loathing. The liberal guys who showed up weren’t very nice at all, slinging the “c” word all over the place. I decided to make this week’s Smart Girl Politics podcast all about the women’s march and the subsequent liberal infestation on the Facebook page.

I certainly hope you had an interesting week, as well!

Here are some stories you might have missed this week …

#PresidentTrump
President Trump didn’t waste any time getting down to business, starting with reinstating the Mexico City Policy to stop tax dollars from funding the abortion industry overseas.

General Mattis was sworn in as our new Secretary of Defense and celebrated by blowing up ISIS 31 times.

Nikki Haley is now the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and she has a message for the UN: America is “taking names.

Erick Erickson talks about how #NeverTrump conservatives like himself should be pleased with President Trump’s first full week in office, even while remaining cautious about Trump’s conservative bona fides. Erick also details an anti-Trump group being put together by former presidential candidate Evan McMullin.

Newt Gingrich says the left should be “scared to death” after Trump’s first week in office.

Since when is it radical for the President to enforce laws already on the books?

Some in the White House press corps aren’t too happy about the new pecking order in Trump’s White House.

Speaking of the press, the White House is going to have “Skype seats” available at press conferences and briefings for media who are not local to DC. Pretty cool idea.

#MarchForLife
There were so many great speeches at yesterday’s event:

The media, of course, was less than happy to be covering the March for Life.

#TheyDoNotSpeakForMe
It got pretty gross at last week’s Women’s March, and I don’t mean the mess of signs they left.

Madonna may have landed herself in hot water after saying she thinks about blowing up the White House. As a child of the 80s myself, it’s very sad to see how desperate she’s become.

Did you realize a woman who was convicted of kidnapping, raping and killing a man was one of the featured speakers at the march?

Some young pro-lifers, who were turned away by the March’s organizers, got the better of everyone.

#SheDoesSpeakForMe
Peggy Hubbard has become a viral star for preaching some truths to the “nasty women” at last week’s march. Love her!!

#Fashion45
Just a quick reminder that I set up a Facebook page dedicated to the sartorial side of the Trump administration. No politics, just gorgeous clothes. Please like and share the page!

And we’re now on Instagram @fashionfortyfive.

#YourWeeklyOutrage
Did you catch the video of the Texas teacher shooting a fake gun at a video of President Trump? Needless to say, she’s been suspended.

Just wanted to close by saying welcome to all of our new subscribers! I’m planning some fun stuff for Smart Girl Politics this year, and am so happy to have you along for the ride.
