The #ReHash: “You will never be ignored again.”

January 21, 2020

Yesterday was fascinating, wasn’t it? We saw the best and worst of our country on display in Washington, D.C. Donald J. Trump became the 45th President of the United States, delivering an inaugural address that some described as “divisive” while others called it a “roadmap for change.”

Meanwhile, the left rioted their way through the streets of D.C., once again wreaking destruction on an area that overwhelmingly voted for Hillary. It’s an interesting activism model — destroy your own side. (If you need some comic relief, check out this melting snowflake.)

Here are some stories you might have missed this week …

#PresidentTrump
Donald John Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States. CNBC has the full transcript of his speech here.

Interestingly, and perhaps tellingly, Trump only used the word “I” three times in his speech, preferring to use “we” instead. This is in stark contrast to our previous president, who was all about the “I.”

Our new president didn’t waste much time, using his first day in office to enact a regulation freeze and waive Obamacare burdens.

Oh, and he also put the Winston Churchill bust back in the Oval Office. The previous tenant had removed it in 2009.

If you haven’t seen this video of Bill Clinton ogling Ivanka Trump, stop what you’re doing and watch it right now. You’ll almost feel sorry for Hillary, who catches him in the act.

How great was Nancy Sinatra‘s smackdown of CNN, who falsely claimed she was upset at Trump’s use of her father’s song, “My Way”, at the inaugural balls?

Attendees at one Inaugural ball were subjected to having water thrown on them by liberal “protesters.” They all seem to handle it well, not sure I would’ve been that calm.

#Fashion45
Because I just can’t get enough of the fashions of the Trump ladies, I decided to set up a Facebook page dedicated to the sartorial side of the Trump administration. No politics, just gorgeous clothes. Please like and share the page!

Speaking of gorgeous fashions, here are the details on who Melania and Ivanka were wearing at last night’s Inaugural balls.

A lot of bands and performers chose not to perform at the Inaugural activities this week due to the harassment they received from the left. The Talladega College Band ignored the haters and put on a great performance at yesterday’s parade. The band had hoped to raise $75,000 for their trip to DC, but after the band director appeared on The O’Reilly Factor, their GoFundMe page raised over $650,000. The extra money will apparently go toward scholarships.

#YourWeeklyOutrage
Remember how the minor children of presidents and politicians are supposed to be off limits? Well, Katie Rich, a writer for Saturday Night Live, didn’t get the memo and proceeded to tweet an awful “joke” about 10-year-old Barron Trump. (She has since locked her Twitter account because that’s what cowards do when they get blowback.)

#Podcast
We interrupt all the Inauguration coverage to bring you episode #23 of the Smart Girl Politics podcast, which is all about school choice. National School Choice Week starts tomorrow; I can’t help but to wonder if school choice will sweep the nation in this new political environment? Listen!

#ImageoftheWeek
George W. Bush was having more fun than anyone else at the Inauguration.

Happy Saturday, everyone!
