That time when SGP started a podcast

Okay, I admit it. It’s been a while.

Life gets busy. Politics gets more (and more and more) insane. Sometimes blogs fall by the wayside. Sometimes the movements you were a part of get hijacked by people looking to get rich.

Whatever.

Smart Girl Politics has always been a grassroots effort for the grassroots. We’ve reinvented ourselves a few times — as a non-profit, as a yearly conference, as a blog site, as really just a Facebook page.

We’ve met some of the best people along the way (and some who aren’t the best, but they’re not important anyway). Our community has always been small but mighty. And we really, really — no, REALLY — want to continue to be a part of your lives because you have been such an important part of our own lives.

There is still so much work to be done … so many dialogues that need to be started.

So, we’re once again embracing our new media roots by reintroducing our podcast. We had one several years back called Smart Girl Nation. This time around, we’ll be the Smart Girl Politics podcast. I’ll be hosting it, and will be joined each week by some of my SGP colleagues.

We’ll be talking politics (blech), life, culture, news of the day. We hope to bring you some great interviews with newsmakers. And we’ll see where this new adventure takes us.

The best part is that we’ll be joining a rising force in the conservative/podcasting world … the Ricochet Podcasting Network. They have some heavy hitters hosting shows, including Jim Geraghty, Mona Charen, Charles W. Cooke, and Kevin Williamson. We are excited to be a part of this exceptional lineup.

Our first show will go up sometime the week of September 12. As for this site, we’ll be posting the podcast and show notes here, plus we’ll blog from time to time. Our old content is still up, so have a gander. We also would like to reboot our weekly newsletter, In the Loop, so be sure to sign up for that.

Also be on the lookout for an SGP store. More on that to come.

We’re happy to be back! And we look forward to talking with you soon!!
