Modern Day Slavery: A Look at Human Trafficking on World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

Today, July 30, is set aside by the UN as World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.  It was established in 2013 to help raise awareness of the growing problem of human trafficking. Everyday thousands of men, women, and children are sold into modern day slavery and forced into various forms of servitude.  The numbers are staggeringly high, but they increase in areas of conflict, natural and manmade disasters. By understanding what human trafficking is, and raising the awareness of its prevalence, we can help combat the atrocities befalling so many.
